While browsing through newly opened restaurants on Zomato, I came across Khao Siam 45 – a new Thai food restaurant in Business Bay. I hadn’t eaten Thai food in a while so we immediately decided to go here for lunch. And I am so glad we did, because the food was really good – authentic and full of flavour. The restaurant is small but has a nice ambiance, very friendly staff and excellent service.
What we ordered
Poh Pia Phak – Deep fried vegetable spring rolls served with sweet chilli sauce. I love spring rolls and these were just perfect! They were crispy and very tasty. What I also loved is that they were not greasy at all!
Tom Yam Goong – Hot and Sour shrimp soup. This was delicious! The flavour of the lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves came through. It was very soothing and comforting.
Gang Phed Gai – Thai red curry with coconut milk and chicken. It was served with steamed Jasmine rice. The curry was very delicious – it had authentic Thai ingredients and flavour.
Pad Thai Gai – Stir-fried rice noodles with chicken, tofu and egg. Loved the flavours of this dish. It had a nice crunch from the peanuts and had a nice kick from the chilli infused fish oil.
Sticky rice with Mango – This is the only dessert they serve but it is a must have. The sticky rice was served with mango accompanied with sweetened coconut milk, which is to be poured over the rice. I was amazed at how such a simple dessert could taste so fabulous! Absolutely delicious!
We had a really nice lunch here. I would definitely visit again and would recommend it to my friends.
Child friendly – YES. The restaurant is quite tight on space but I thought it to be child friendly because it is cosy, and the staff is very warm and friendly. Although there is no separate kids menu, the menu is quite extensive (plenty of options that could be child friendly or could be customised to your liking).
