We have been following the progress of this restaurant since the construction work began and my first thought was “another restaurant”..but as I saw it come together – the interiors, the signage – I started to get more and more excited about it. When it was about to open we had a chance to visit and were treated to some lovely Moroccan tea and sweets. We were blown away by the beautiful interiors and the extremely warm and friendly service. The next day we went to dine here and fell in love with the place even more. The food is amazing and the ambiance is lovely!
Moroccan tea and sweets – The Moroccan tea was light, lovely and very soothing. The sweets were melt in the mouth and very delicious.
Nibbles – While we waited for our food to arrive, we nibbled on some bread and olives. The bread didn’t seem freshly baked but with the olive oil and the olives it was nice.
What we ordered –
DRINKS
Virgin Mojito – I decided to have this and I am so glad I did. This was very refreshing!
STARTERS
Briouate with cheese and spinach – This pastry stuffed with cheese and spinach and then deep fried, was absolutely amazing! We all loved it, especially the little one who ate most of them! We wanted to order more of these but also wanted to keep room for the mains.
MAINS
Lamb Tagine with artichokes and olives – The tagine dish was really good – the lamb was cooked very well and the stew was absolutely delicious. We really liked the artichokes in it too.
Chicken pastilla – Traditional Moroccan pie stuffed with chicken strips and crushed almonds. This dish was a real surprise. It was nothing like we had expected. We thought it would be a savoury dish but this was sweet. It was very different – had so much flavour in it – we really liked it!
Couscous Vegetables – We decided to go for the vegetarian couscous after our server highly recommended it. I don’t think I have ever had couscous that tasted so delicious – the couscous had a lovely depth of flavour and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. The portion size was really big so we packed some and took it home.
We were really stuffed at the end of our meal so did not order a sweet dish. The chicken pastilla was however sweet so we ended the meal with it 🙂
We had a nice time here – lovely ambiance, good food and great service. Definitely will visit this place again soon.
