Dinner at Le Frenchy (Dubai Marina)

We don’t end up going to Marina side often but when I was invited to try the food at Le Frenchy, it was worth making that trip. We were welcomed warmly by the staff and assisted to our table. The staff was very friendly and interacted with the little one and made her feel comfortable.  The restaurant has a really nice ambiance – the interiors are lovely and the DJ was playing some good music. They have a lovely wine cellar too.  Robin, the manager, chatted with us about the restaurant and ensured we were attended to.  The service was a tad bit slow but definitely worth the wait as the food was excellent!

What we had

DRINKS

Mint lemonade – The mint lemonade was freshly made and was quite nice. It wasn’t too sweet which was perfect!

Pineapple juice – We were told that the juice wasn’t freshly made but we ordered it anyway since the little one wanted it.

While we waited for our order, we were given bread and herb butter to nibble on. The bread was freshly baked and tasted really good with the butter. Very tasty!

STARTERS

Black pepper shrimp – Shrimp with breaded eggplant, red pepper and black pepper sauce. This was really good. The prawns were cooked well and the breaded eggplant tasted fantastic. Loved the black pepper sauce too. A very well put together dish – definitely recommend it!

MAINS

Grilled chicken – Chicken breast with semi sweet mushroom sauce, Brussels sprouts, baby carrots and mashed potatoes. I absolutely loved this. The chicken and the veggies were cooked perfectly. The sauce was delicious and it all came together really well.

Tournedos De Boeuf – Beef filet on breaded tomatoes. I am not a fan of beef and usually don’t order it often. My other half ordered this one and I wish I had ordered it! The beef was cooked medium rare as he asked it to be and it was just perfect. This was probably one of the best steaks I’ve eaten. It was absolutely amazing. The breaded tomatoes were really nice and were a good accompaniment to the beef while not stealing the attention from the main ingredient. The steaks here are a must try!

DESSERT

Pain Perdu Grand – Mère – Baked croissant with caramel sauce and ice cream. We were quite full but wanted to try a dessert so we shared one. Our first choice was Crème brûlée but they didn’t have it that day so we went for this one, and I am so glad we did!  This bread pudding was delicious! The caramel sauce with it tasted really good – a very comforting dessert. The little one had most of the chocolate ice cream.

This is a really lovely restaurant, which serves very good food. We will definitely visit again soon, especially for the steak 🙂 !
