Staycation at Le Meridien Fujairah

For our anniversary this year, we decided to go to Fujairah. The plan was to stay in a resort and then drive around the town. Unfortunately I came down with a flu and we almost cancelled our trip but then decided to go anyway and have a relaxing staycation.

Fujairah is an emirate on the east coast of UAE and lies on the Gulf of Oman. It has beautiful beaches and clear waters.

We booked the Le Meridien and absolutely loved our stay here! All the rooms here have a fabulous view of the Gulf of Oman and the beach.

After settling in our room we changed and went down to the beach. We had carried beach toys with us but the resort also had a shop which had pool toys and beach toys.

After spending some time at the beach we headed to the pool. While the little one and her daddy played in the pool, I sat watching them, sipping on a cup of hot chocolate.

We decided to spend the rest of the evening in the room and ordered room service.

We ordered gnocchi with pesto and a burger and for dessert we ordered Umm Ali and  a chocolate pudding.

When we were booking, we had mentioned that it was our anniversary and we received a complimentary bouquet and a cake which we thought was a very sweet gesture.

The next day we had breakfast in the restaurant. The buffet here is really good and has everything you would want – cereals, pastries, waffles, cold cuts, cheeses and fruits. They also have an omelette station where you can get customised omlettes for yourself and an Indian breakfast which had a different Indian breakfast dish everyday. There was also an Arabic corner with some traditional Arabic bread and other nibbles.

After a very satisfying breakfast we spent the rest of the morning at the play area. There is a soft play indoor play area as well as an outdoor play area which also has a small pool. We really liked the outdoors play area and the little one had a lot of fun here.

We went back to the beach and spent some time there. The little one was sleepy and we were starting to get hungry so we went to Gonu bar and grill for a quick lunch. The little one slept on the sofa while we had a nice lunch overlooking the beach.

Since the rooms have such amazing views we spent the afternoon sitting on the balcony, sipping tea while the little one took a nap. In the evening we again went to the beach and the pool and ordered room service, again.

We ordered in some Thai food and spent the rest of the time cuddled up and watching  some TV and on the balcony.

We woke up early the next morning to watch the sunrise before going for breakfast and then headed back home.

The resort offers a lot of activities like water sports and other festive fun for kids. Since we went around Christmas the resort was decorated and had quite a lot of activities planned for Christmas. We had a wonderful relaxing time here and would definitely love to come back here again.
