I have been hearing a lot about whole30 these days so decided to check it out.
What is whole 30?
Whole30 is a nutritional programme, a “short-term nutritional reset, designed to help you put an end to unhealthy cravings and habits, restore a healthy metabolism, heal your digestive tract, and balance your immune system”. It is a plan where you eat nutritionally dense and unprocessed food for a month. You can find more details on the whole30 site.
I read a lot forums where everyone recommended the whole30 plan and said that it really helped them – by not only helping to transform their eating habits but also because of its health benefits. What I found really interesting is that it is just a one month program, which is totally do-able, (although it may be challenging because certain food groups like sugar, grains, dairy and legumes are not allowed).
The whole30 programme is not a diet but a plan to help you have a healthy lifestyle, which is why I am really keen on doing it. I bought the kindle version of the book so I can refer to things on my mobile too. The book explains everything about the whole30 programme and has some useful information. However you don’t HAVE to buy the book to start the whole30 programme as the whole30 website has all the information you need to start.
I will be starting the plan on 1st January, hopefully will stick to it and as a lot of people have said on the forums, thank myself for having completed it at the end of the 30 days.
I am planning to maintain a daily food diary and will give regular updates on how I am getting on. Check out my instagram @muktasdiaries to have a look at what I will be eating and for meal inspiration. So here’s to a healthy and fabulous start to the new year! 🙂
