Weekend lunch at Al Halabi (Mall of the Emirates)

We spent the morning roaming around the Mall of the Emirates and decided to go here for an early lunch.  We were welcomed warmly and seated at our choice of table. The little one’s mood was a bit off so our server very sweetly offered her some sweets, which she was very happy to nibble on, while we ordered the food.

We were served a vegetable platter with some bread. The bread was freshly baked and soft.

What we ordered

DRINKS

Turkish coffee – The coffee was really nice. The server asked about the level of sweetness and it was perfect.

Fresh Orange juice – The orange juice was good but a bit too sweet. The little one immediately grabbed and started drinking it as soon as it came to the table (so didn’t get a chance to take a photo :))

Lemon with Mint – This was refreshing but I would have liked it to have a little less mint – it tasted of all mint and no lemon.

COLD APPETIZERS

Baba Ganouj – I love Baba Ganouj and order it all the time. This one was really delicious.

HOT APPETIZERS

Cheese Rakakat – These stuffed cheese rolls were crunchy and tasty. The little one seemed to have liked these and had a couple.

AL HALABI GRILL

Shish taouk – This is one of the best shish taouks I have had. The chicken was perfectly spiced and cooked. It was moist and tasted delicious!

Lamb chops – The flavour of the lamb chops was really good, however they were a little bit overdone. We did still like them.

We didn’t have any desserts here as we were quite full.

The decor of this place is really nice. The staff was warm, polite and friendly. The service was good too.

Child friendly – YES
